EARTH DAY TRAILS WORK

Every year on Earth Day we round up volunteers to tackle a few trail project's. Our crew consists of present, past and future YEP crew members, combined with local trail enthusiast. We partner with our local BLM and Forest Service, different trail user groups and other local nonprofit groups to pick projects that will benefit general trail users. Our volunteer efforts focus on multiple use trails near Salmon. We feel that trails with a close proximity to town and with good access for everyone’s' need is the priority for these types of volunteer efforts.

The focus of our Earth Day volunteer efforts is to help improve existing trails that are open to multiple user groups. By improving a well maintained, easy to follow network of trails, we reduce the human impacts on native plants and wild life species. We also see this as an opportunity to expose our youth to some of the recreational opportunities we have here in Lemhi County, while showing them the importance of being good stewards of the homeland.

Past projects of our Trail Day efforts include:

+Challis chi flo trails

+ Annual race course preparations for the 12 HRS of DISCO

+ Discovery Hill trails

+Barracks Lane Trails

+Powderhouse gulch

+ Lower Williams Trails
